Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. As a child, she went to the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma chose to be an actor at age six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing as well as dancing, and also acting. As part of a school production and a Stagecoach show, she was the lead at the age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through her Oxford teacher. After eight auditions consistently, producer David Heyman told Emma and co-applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected for the roles of the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001 it set new records for its opening day opening and the opening weekend's earnings. Reviewers have been highly lauding the film and the performance by three principal young actors. The highly distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the film.
